The Great Lakes College of Toronto (GLCT), established in 1978 as a private international high
school, offers students from over 20 different countries a fast track to high school graduation,
the Ontario Secondary School Diploma and entrance to top Canadian and world universities.
This fast track can be as short as 4, 6 or 8 months.
Individual learning plans build on the strengths of each student, and assist them to focus on
their academic goals. These plans are the blueprints that guide students in the development
of a solid foundation for academic success at GLCT and even greater academic success at
university. Students are counselled continuously throughout their time at GLCT to ensure that
their transition to university is smooth and obstacle free.
Students may begin their GLCT program at five different entry points over the course of the
school year. They have the choice of living on the school campus, in a home-stay with a
nearby Canadian family, with relatives, or with family friends. They enter GLCT, either directly
into the Grade 10 – 12 academic program, or into the English as a Second Language program if
they need special help with their English language skills.
It should be noted that The Great Lakes College of Toronto, highly values its association since
2010 with Virtue Educational & Allied Services in the recruitment of students in both Africa
and Canada. Virtue Educational consistently recruits quality students who achieve at a high
level in their program at GLCT.
